Presuppositions vs. Hallucinations

In NLP, calibration depends on our ability to distinguish between sensory-based evidence (what we actually see, hear, or feel) and hallucinations (the meanings or labels we project onto those senses).

1. He waves his fist at me ➡️ He is angry with me

2. She touch my arm lightly ➡️ She likes me

3. I heard him speak to her ➡️ They’re talking about me

4. He groaned ➡️ He’s in pain

5. I smell burning ➡️ She’s panicking

Mastering this distinction allows you to observe with surgical precision, separate from your own biases and internal filters. In NLP, we work with the evidence on the left to understand the structure of the experience on the right.
