The Presuppositions of NLP are a set of "convenient beliefs" or assumptions that, if you adopt them, you are more likely to create better results in your life and communication.
- Everyone has a unique model of the world.
- Respect other people's model of the world.
- The map is not the territory.
- People are not their behaviours.
- Behaviours should be evaluated in terms of context and ecology.
- All behaviour has a positive intention.
- The most important thing about a person is their behaviour.
- Everyone has all the resources they need to get their outcome.
- There are no unresourceful people, only unresourceful states.
- Accept the person, change the behaviour.
- Law of requisite variety: The person with the most flexibility ends up controlling the system.
- There is no failure, only feedback.
- You are in charge of your mind, and therefore your results.
- The Meaning of your communication is the results you get back.
- Resistance in a client is a sign of a lack of rapport.
