The basis of reframing is to separate Intention from Behaviour. Because all meaning is context-dependent, changing the frame of a situation can completely change the meaning.
Types of Reframes
- Context Reframe: Where changing the context of a scenario changes the meaning (e.g., "I'm too stubborn" reframed as "That stubbornness will be real persistence when you're starting your new business").
- Meaning Reframe: Where the presenting problem would have a different meaning by challenging the belief or assumption.
- Agreement Frame: Where you pace and lead an objection by using the word "and" instead of "but".
- Conditional Close: An agreement based on satisfying a specific condition.
